BOOKING Sept 2020 & April 2021 & Sept 2021

Mac and Saul isn’t the name of a new pasta dish, it is infact a glorious combination of meleodeon and hammered dulcimer. They met while both in the ground breaking Kings of Calicutt with Eliza Carthy. A short lived but intense episode that led onto a duo and eventually their acclaimed first album Sand and Soil in 2009 and a track ended up on the 2010 Folk Awards album due to Saul’s nomination that year.

10 years on from Sand and Soil, and in its anniversary year they have got the bug again and are picking up where they left off with a new album in progress. Back again with their amusingly irreverent banter and of course their trademark immaculate and gutsy playing style. Recording for the new album is underway!

BOOKING Dec 2020

Winter Wonderband formed in 2012 and has a super 4-piece line up, of Saul Rose on melodeon (Faustus, Wayward, Transports.), Maclaine Colston (Kings of Calicutt, Pressgang) on hammered dulcimer and percussion, Beth Porter on cello and recorder (Bookshop Band, Spell Songs, Wayward) and Jennifer Crook on harp and guitar (Snow Patrol, Cythara). With tight 4-part vocal harmonies to weave together the beautiful instrumental combinations, they play a warming mix of traditional folk, modern classics, and original material. This makes for a wonderfully relaxed and charming evening of Winter music, not just for Christmas, but across the winter season.
